Examination fees

Pearson VUE administers Digital Marketing Institute computer based exams via its global network of test centers. The examination fee owed by the student to Pearson for providing the exam facility is payable directly to Pearson.

Cooling off period:

Students are entitled to a cooling off period of 14 days, which begins on the day that a student is provided with their booking confirmation and thus conclusion of the contract.

If a student decides they do not want to commence the course during this period a refund may be granted. A student may express their right to cancel via email or post. On this expression a full refund will be issued without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days.

Once the Program is accessed by a student, this is indication of use of service and express acceptance of the above terms and conditions, and as a result no refunds will be issued at that point, even within the standard cooling off period of 14 days.

Payments terms for students

Short Courses, Professional Diploma and Specialized Diploma Courses:

Students will be granted access to online content once course fees have been paid in full.

Postgraduate Diploma:

Students undertaking the post graduate programme may avail of a 60 day payment structure as follows:

50% of the fee payable upfront

50% of the fee payable after 60 days (from initial payment date)

Students will be granted access to the first part of the Postgraduate Diploma course once the first payment (50%) is made, the remaining fee must be paid with 60 days at which point full access to the programme will be granted.


Students undertaking the masters programme may avail of a 120 day payment structure as follows:

35% of the fee payable upfront

35% of the fee payable after 60 days (from initial payment date)

30% of the fee payable after 120 days (from initial payment date)

Students will be granted access to the first part of the taught element of the Masters programme once the first payment (35% of the course fee) is made, the remainder of the taught element of the course will be made available on receipt of the 2 nd installment (35% of the course fee). Full access to the entire programme (taught and research) will be granted on receipt of the full programme fees (Final 30%)

Failure to make payments in the above timeframe will result in the student being withdrawn from the programme and access to class network being revoked. All fees paid up to this point are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Start date

Access to your online programme is granted once the course fee is paid. Your official start date however, is the 1st day of the month following payment, regardless of when the course is first accessed.

For example

If you pay on any date in April 2016, your official start date is May 1st, 2016.
If you pay on any date in May 2016, your official start date is June 1st, 2016.

Validity of Invoices

An invoice issued by the Digital Marketing Institute is valid for a 14 day period from the date of issue, the Digital Marketing Institute reserves the right to withdraw an invoice within this period by notifying students in writing.

Subscription Holders

Subscription holders agree to pay the monthly, annual, or course fee specified when you purchase a Subscription. Depending on where you transact with us, the type of payment method used, and where your payment method was issued, your transaction with us may be subject to foreign exchange fees or differences in prices because of exchange rates and other geographic-specific pricing. Any agreement you have with your payment provider will govern your use of your specified payment method. Your failure to terminate and/or continued use of your Subscription reaffirms that we are authorized to charge you for that Subscription. This does not waive our right to seek payment directly from you.


You may be asked to provide a credit, charge or debit card number from a card issuer that we accept in order to activate your Subscription – your authorizations in this section also apply to our payment processor and any other company who acts as a billing agent for us. You hereby authorize us to charge your specified payment method on a monthly or annual basis, in advance, for recurring Subscriptions, and to charge in advance for any course based or other subscription models, and/or to place a hold on your payment method with respect to any unpaid charges for Subscriptions. You authorize the issuer of your selected payment method to pay any amounts described herein without requiring a signed receipt. You authorize us to continue to attempt to charge and/or place holds with respect to all sums described herein, or any portion thereof, to your payment method until such amounts are paid in full. You agree to provide updated payment information upon request and any time the information you previously provided is no longer valid. You acknowledge and agree that Digital Marketing Institute, will not have any liability whatsoever for any insufficient funds or other charges incurred by you as a result of attempts to charge, and/or place holds on, your specified payment method as contemplated by these Terms.

You agree to pay us, through our payment processors, all charges at the prices then in effect for any purchase in accordance with the applicable payment terms presented to you at the time of purchase. You agree to make payment using the payment method you provide when you sign up for a Subscription. We reserve the right to correct, or to instruct our payment processor or financing partner to correct, any errors or mistakes, even if payment has already been requested or received.


On failure of your agreed subscription payment we will attempt to charge your card a further 2 times. On failure of the third attempt we will proceed to cancel your subscription and you will no longer have access to our services. Service will only be reinstated on payment of remaining annual balance upfront.


Students who wish to defer their participation on an online course may do so in extreme circumstances for a maximum period of 12 months for Postgraduate and Masters students and a maximum period of 6 months for Professional Diploma students. Deferrals may only be applied to students who have paid the full course fees and are at the discretion of the Digital Marketing Institute. Course participation will not be deferred while an outstanding fee remains on the student account.


Refunds will only be granted in extenuating circumstances rendering the student incapable of continuing with the programme. Refunds are at the sole discretion of the Digital Marketing Institute. Extenuating circumstances refer to unforeseen events which may affect a student’s ability to complete their course.

Foreseen events such as sporting, cultural or work commitments are not considered extenuating circumstances. Supporting documentation e.g. medical certificate, police statement etc. must be provided. In such circumstance deferral may be offered as an alternative. The amount refunded will be in proportion to how far you have progressed through the course. Please allow a minimum of 7 weeks for a refund to be processed.


Digital Marketing Institute reserves the right to refuse tuition fees and reserves the right to deny any applications.


The European Commission has provided an ODR website to help traders and consumers resolve disputes out of court

Eligibility for DM PRO

Dual Certification of both the "DMI Certified Digital Marketing Professional (CDMP)" certification and the "American Marketing Association Professional Certified Marketer (PCM(r)) in Digital Marketing" certification applies to US residents only. Non-US resident applicants will be considered on a case by case basis.

American Marketing Association

Personal information may be shared within the AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION for research, statistical and system administration purposes. Digital Marketing Institute customers and potential customers from the US are given the option to share their personal information with the AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION and can choose not to do so.

Digital Marketing Institute customers from the US who have purchased a dual certification product will have their personal information shared with the AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION in order to complete the delivery of the dual certification product. These customers may be contacted by email and/or phone in relation to their examination, certification and student program from Digital Marketing Institute or AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION.
